1. Introduction
XIV is the name of a visual art exhibition by Matthew Galea and Aaron Bezzina. The exhibition was held at Gallery Last Touch in Mosta in 2014.
XIV is a toungue in cheek project, a caricature, to a certain extent of an visual arts exhibition. Initially starting out as a project in a different space, XIV ended up homeless, and after a couple of days relocated to Gallery Last Touch in Mosta. The project kept gathering momentum and support from the local community and managed to launch despite the steback as a bigger and better version than originally palnned.
The body of work exhibitied was experimental and subversive in nature. Both Galea and Bezzina identify as sculptors and both of them showcased a very different idea of waht they believe that sculpture shoud look like in the 21st century.
